These 10 regional conferences lead collegiate clubs through local events and programs designed specifically for collegiate athletes. As a member of the Mideast Collegiate Triathlon Conference, the club works to identify and cultivate triathletes who have the potential to excel in representing the University of Michigan at the collegiate, regional, and national events. We cater to all abilities and sporting backgrounds. We work hard at what we do because we love the sport and want to share it with everyone, but we also love to hang out outside the pool, off the bike, and without our running shoes. Our fall season is in September and then qualifiers race Collegiate Nationals in the late spring. Some members are competitive and experienced triathletes pushing themselves to new personal best times, while others are just starting out or prefer to train and race more socially. We believe that students should have full access to racing and training with out the high price tag normally associated with racing. We are a group of athletes who love to swim, bike and run.
Do I need a bike to join? We want to promote healthy and active lifestyle through triathlon and keep the high costs associated with racing out of the equation. All contributions go directly to our club and the money will stay in our account earning interest until we use it for one of our race trips. We generally meet at the Smith Fieldhouse on campus as indicated by the red dot above. In addition, we work very hard in raising enough money each year to make that mission a reality. All workouts start at the Wall Aquatic Center unless otherwise noted. I would love to do another full Ironman and have plans to do one in 2019 when my twins are in Kindergarten.
